Noblesville
Big or small, commerce sits pretty in county seat
Noblesville offers companies something few other communities can: The city is as big -- or as small -- as you want it to be.
Walk its quaint downtown streets that hum with activity around the county’s beautifully restored Historic Courthouse, and you may feel as if you’ve stepped back in time.
Merchants wave to neighbors from inside their neat, attractive storefronts. The Courthouse clock strikes every half-hour. Vintage cars circle the Square on Saturday nights. Lawn chairs dot the Courthouse lawn during the annual Street Dance and Friday night Jazz Squared concerts.
But drive 15 minutes to the city’s far east side and you’ll land in Hamilton Town Center, an upscale, metro-like outdoor mall that’s attracted shoppers throughout the region and is conveniently located adjacent to the Saxony Corporate Campus. Popular retailers and some unique independents fill this architecturally distinctive mall, which is nearly 1 million square feet.
The two-sided nature of Noblesville makes it a comfortable fit for all sizes of companies. Its diverse and numerous amenities are a magnet for families as well as single professionals. MSN Money included the city in its 2010 listing of the five top places in the United States to retire, due to its affordable housing, good economy, access to medical care, and wide variety of leisure activities.

Heart of Hamilton County
As the county seat, Noblesville is the heart of Hamilton County commerce, community and culture.
CEOs repeatedly cite the city’s commitment to economic development, convenient access to interstates and airports for moving people and shipping freight, and the quality of Noblesville’s workforce as reasons for their companies’ success.
Residents are highly educated, with nearly half the population holding college degrees, and the unemployment rate is low. They are trained in a wide range of white- and blue-color occupations -- from management, business and financial operations, and legal or medical professions to production, transportation and material moving, and healthcare support.
Noblesville Schools are renowned for academic success and challenging students to succeed. A legion of volunteers helps in classrooms daily; the district embraces partnerships with area businesses and collaborates with like-minded city services.
In a community effort to ensure that literacy remains strong among residents, Hamilton East Public Library launched a “1,000 Books before Kindergarten” program in 2010, the same year that its Summer Reading Program had a record-breaking 18,825 registrants.
