FISHERS TO INSTALL "SMART TRAFFIC SIGNALS"

The $2 million project, which is being funded mostly through a grant from the Indiana Department of Transportation, will feature the new signals on three heavily traveled corridors: Allisonville Road and 96th and 106th streets.
The town also is asking INDOT for a new interchange at I-69 and 106th Street.
Road improvements, revitalization in the downtown district and strategies to encourage more commercial business were the top focus of the State of the Town address Wednesday.
Town Council President Scott Faultless said the new infrastructure is designed to encourage commercial business.
Ground will be broken this spring for a trail system and amphitheater in the new Nickel Plate District, which encompasses the downtown area between Lantern Road and the municipal complex.
